Found this neat program...supports my board. Puts a nice lil temp reading in the system tray. Kinda interesting to see it rise on some apps ever so slightly.
Anyways, my system is averaging 120F...yay!

Been useing Motherboard Monitor for 2 years now, does same thing.
Mine was running up to the 50C mark.
Gave up, took side off of case, put 8" fan blowing in. Temps now 39-43C

I get such conflicting reports of what is a safe temp for p4 cpu's.
I feel comfortable with anything under 70c.

Using my own temp monitor (smart guardian) case temp runs 19 C. CPU 42c. It's weird, never changes. Even when running AH.

Case: 34C
CPU: 43C idle, 48C under load
If you're looking for safe temps, 60C is redline for any processor. Run at 55C (CPU under max load) or lower to be safe and not have any parts get cooked. WhiteHawk, I'd seriously invest in another set of fans if you're running that hot. Turn the heat down in the room, and kick the AC on too. I'm surprised your P4 isn't well-done yet.

Case: 22C - 24C
CPU: 41C - 44C
CPU is Athlon XP2100+ with Zalman CNPS7000A heatsink and there's 5 80mm + 1 92mm case fans (+2 fans in PSU).
