Hehe, I can see it already.....

"You fly for the crooks?"

"Well, yes, but at least I'm not a Bishop, those guys are prudes and religious zealots. And those Knights. Man, those guys are so stupid, they should be calling them the "Daze".

Anyone care to speculate what the derogatory names given to our new countries will be?

Knight: "At least I don't diddly altar boys."

"You love a lot of things if you live around them, but there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, nor any before nor any after, that is as lovely as a great airplane, and men who love them are faithful to them even though they leave them for others. Man has one virginity to lose in fighters, and if it is a lovely airplane he loses it to, there is where his heart will forever be."

Crooks will probably be the choice for me and my Rook Brethern.

K-nig-its as borrowed from Monty Pythons "Search For the Holy Grail" will probably be hung on them.  And if they start to retreat, oh the Taunts!!!

Bishops.
Men in Funny Hats comes to mind.

There must be other things they can call us.

I'm sure they will call us "BAD ASS'ES".

Say your prayers Bishops.
Dig in your spurs Knights.

The BAD bellybutton Rooks are coming.

How do we tell if we killed a Knight or a Bishop if they are all RED?

I checked the latest screen shots and answered my own question about player id's.

I would prefer 3 different colors.   It is nice to know who is backing who up.   If all the bad guys are RED then I have to assume they are all on the same team when in fact there may be only one knight being eaten by a bunch of bishops.

Now that I think about it, the knight might be enjoying that.  Maybe I should spare his life.  But alas, will not be able to distinguish who he is.

Uh....I'd say it's only beta and there's still time to correct this rather stupid nomenclature....by far the most idiotic idea, a patchwork "solution" designed to distance AH from the others, but it's failing miserably.

Chess pieces??? Come on. What does that have to do with WWII aerial combat. Exactly diddlysquat. Take a mulligan (another irrelevant analogy, I know!) and try it again.

Chess pieces may be exactly the right thing. WWII had some funky mission names too. But, that aside, I'm inclined to think the chess pieces are symbols of an interesting strat model as development conintues.

It's a pretty clean slate and plenty of room for some really great features.

Hey Stiglr,

Can't argue with the fact that Chess references have anything to do with WWII  Aerial Combat, but come to think of it, neither does Purp vs Greeen vs Gold vs Red......... your point is???

Or A, B and C. HTC uses their imagination and Stig freaks out, heheh. OK Stig, let's see your butt on the line. Instead of simple squeakin, be constructive. What's you idea for country names in a fantasy arena? Hummmmm?
