That's interesting. As I said, I never lose vox, yet my motherboard has C-Media AC97 onboard sound.

Thanks for the answer, or attempt, Skuzzy  :)

Its a maddening thing that works for some, problematic for others.

I'm running a Linksys router with all the required ports open.  Norton is disabled when i enter the game and that's all that's running.

Someone suggested making myself the DMZ host...no effect.

I guess I am tired of this thing and others like the spit 5 catching a diving LA7 at speed 450 after the spit makes a 180 degree climing turn. The single 303 ping that takes both wings off, etc.  I can go on for ever but it wont matter, will it?

The reason for my comment is that I do pay $15 a month (prepaid for 6 months) and I don't see any fixes to customer problems.  I did see however that a thread was locked because someone got the impresion that a system problem was a cheat and said he was going to cheat, too.  I am sure locking the thread will stop him.

Anyway, don't mind me, I am just pished. I'll get over it soon (AHII).

Yea I hear all of you about the losing vox problem, but riddle me this, every now and then when I key my vox buttons; not only do I get a disco but my whole computer restarts.  That sucks more than you know...

Then there are those like me who use ob Nforce Soundstorm, run a Linksys Router with no ports open, leave Sygate firewall running in AH, and NEVER lose vox.  Strange that when I set up my Linksys WRT54G, I enabled port fwding for 2000-5000 but I tried AH with it disabled and it still worked as always with no problems.  I do have to open ports to host Falcon 4.0 or Teamspeak.  I also run my dial-up Guam box with a SB Live card and Sygate firewall on in AH and NEVER lose vox.  I do disable Norton on both while in AH.  Beats h... outta me why same config works for some and not others.

Hey Skuzzy,

Every time I lose vox I have to log out and log back in.  For some reasone this fixes the vox problem.  I am assuming it is the reinitialization that fixes the problem.  Is it a possible to add a button to the voice menue in set up, so that vox can be reinitialized without logging out?

Exactly the same here.

Relogging in cures it.

For the longest time I thought maybe I was dropping packets or something...but net status stays nice and flat (its been really a great connect the past few months, under 60ms most of the time).

If there's anything else I can provide you, HiTech or anyone else with..let me know.

Let's cure this  :aok

Yeah I have an ASUS P4S533E board with the on board audio.  Alt tab does not seem to do the trick, I have to quit then log back on.

Roscoroo, are you using any type of NAT? if so then this may be why, most low-end home office routers will not allow you to map the same ports to more than one IP address. this applies to both inbound and outbound traffic. this may be why one works and one does not

Maybe the Vox packets have a lower priority then any thing else ?
(just guessin) so that 's the first thing to go when the "traffic" on the "web" get's heavy ?

no Nat router.. same setup as last year but with a pc configed to run as a gateway ..  vc works on two outta three pc's behind it ... its just that one now that doesnt work .. its an iffi mainboard toss together thingy ... the only new part in the whole thing is the cpu

it just might not be configed quite right yet .

I'm gonna hammer on it when my Fluke (Skuzzy Jr type ) buddy gets over here next week .

I am one of the people in 418th that used to lose vox regularly.  I was playing at an internet games place so I have no idea on the spec of the machine but what I can add is how I dealt with it and what I noticed repeatedly.

I would lose vox randomly but always when I went to the runway from the tower.  I got fed up relogging and so I would just leave it out.  I found that if I just carried on it would reset itself back working usually when I went to the runway to start a new flight in a new type of plane ,  i.e. vox would be out - crash or get shot down - go to tower, go to hangar pick plane , go to tower - go to runway - vox working.

I also found certain planes particularly bad for this - e.g. Goons and M3's and M16's (goons particularly so)

I don't know if it is possible for plane type loaded to affect vox but thats the way it seemed to me.  The last 3-4 months a never relogged and it always fixed itself eventually on a plne change.
