Looks like Wild Bill is on the ropes
« on: December 23, 2003, 11:49:17 AM »
Opened my e-mail today to find spam from IEN, saying there's a new flat rate pricing plan for unlimited play....$16 LESS a month than current unlimted customers now pay. The new offer applies only to new customers, and those with inactive accounts 60+ days.

Looks like a most of Wild Bill's group will be over our way soon...for 60 days anyway :)

Was a great game, too bad idiotic business decisions ruined it, we have picked up 5 guys from WB in squad in just the last few weeks, I think our squad actually has more WBers then IEN now :D

Actually, Max, I think it's a smart move.

They offer all the iEN games for one low price, which is cheaper than AH.

They already explained why they can't offer the cheaper rate to the existing customers. If they did that, the immediate drop in revenue by giving everyone an immediate price cut would bankrupt them.

They are tying to lure new customers to iEN with the low pricing. Then, when they have built of their coffers, they will be able to transition their existing customers to the new, lower price.

In the meantime, they are offering their existing customers some access to closed betas that the new customers won't have access to.

Here's the thread that explains all.

Given what you just explained, banana, it's his only move.  Smart has nothing to do with it.

He admits he cannot lower his price to the existing customer base because the revenue drop would sink him.  So already he's operating on a very thin thread.

His only option is to get new customers....something that he has been unable to do for the last 2 years or so.

The price game is his only, last move.

It might kill you but Wildbill is flying the arenas now. When he first started he got and ear full about the price. The Dev team has been on him about it for a long time. But it took going online to get the message thru.

He joined 4th FG hehe....pony dweebs

Don't count your players before they come.

If some company did business with me in the manner you have described I would cease doing business with them... (Welcome to free enterprise)

reward the new guy.. and screw the people who have supported your company is asinine..

then again "the world needs ditch diggers too.."

Im glad to see todays business mind so inept.  Makes me feel higher on the cognative scale thru their baffoonery.

I dont wish starving or anything like that, but this in my opinon is one of the poorest business decisions ive seen in a long time..

Who knows it may work...  I was outbid on Ebay the other day by someone bidding higher than the BUY NOW price wtf.....  So I guess a sucker is born every minute theory proves itself again..

Long time IEN customers cut your losses now and get off the sinking ship..

HT implimented a price drop for "lost" customers and a few other similar actions, only it wasn't announced publicly by the company.

I trust you will honor your word and cancel your AH account, then? ;)

I really have no idea about so called secret price deals when Htc changed its pricing to 14.95  besides the 6 month deal  or the affiliate break for getting new players to sign up ..

I didnt see any secret beta stuff deals or any of that .

All they did was advertise that the price was lowered and everyone got the same deal ...

I believe I got the same Emails as everyone else did back then .

Kekule: I did? Thats news to me. The only priceing thing we have ever done is to send out some random offers to find out what the price point should be.

He's got ya there Kekule ;)

What iEN has done is UNIVERSALLY offered ALL NEW customers a dramatically lower flat rate right in the face of thier ENTIRE existing customer base.

It's not the same as what HTC did by any stretch of the imagination.

Regardless.

Does WB-III have the KI-67 yet.... ?  No?  Then talk to the hand....   ;)
