AW Vets, remember Pal.-?
« on: December 30, 2003, 05:37:46 PM »
He played Air Warrior from Dos days, and was one of the best sticks in the game, IMHO. That guy killed me so often my monitor developed a red tint to it.

Anyway I was at FedEx, noticed his shop was across the street and stopped in to visit. Of course he remembered me, having seen my name on his kill board so many times, but nevertheless I lied about how great I was at Air Warrior (the longer it's been the better I was) and how easy he was to shoot down.

I don't know if it was me being too obnoxious or telling him old AW vets like Manx and Murdr and 75% of the AW junkies have methadoned to playing AH, but by the end of our visit he vowed to download AH and dig out his old flight controls to shoot us all down, starting with me.

He said he'll fly under an alias until he gets good, so look for a very fast learning Noob rising rapidly through the ranking systems.

Wasn't Pal one of the trainers? Name sounds very familiar.

Hmm, for some reason I thought Pal lived in Valencia.

I'm cronically getting him confused with someone else I think.

Nah Sik, he lives in Sacramento and owns a paintball business. He's been doing that for 10 years and has built up a pretty impressive business- in fact he manufactures the guns on site and they're among the best available.

MT, I believe he was a triner for awhile.

Well Sway, it seems alot of AH Vets were "welcoming" the AW refugees at first, but now the cream has risen to the top. Look at the rankings and it's obvious the AW vets are superior now.

he was never much of a angles fighter. he sure liked to grab to 35k and run to base acks 3-4 sectors away. it'll be fun getting accused of cheating again by and old name. he can join up with 6gums.

:)

in any case i hope he sticks it out and doesn't let his newfound sealness force him away.

I remember that guy.  AB2 and -CG- were the only 2 guys that I absolutely hated going up against.

AW vets are superior to who?  The kids with 5 numbers as a name?  I welcome them, just differently. ;)
