Does AH only (currently) support 4 way hat on the stick, or does it support 8 way ?

It seems like it is only 4 to me...

You smell that? Do you smell that?
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, smelled like victory.

I thought that was just me... glad to see someone else asked, too.

I caught HT in the BETA, Eight way isn't supported yet.

Even when It is, the view functions are gonna be a real B!+C# to master.

Perhaps the Alpha Testers can share some info with us to help flatten that learning curve?

Yes, AH supports 8-way hats, in 2 ways.

1.  Directly programmable in all 8 positions
The game has KP7 for front-left, KP9 for front-right, etc, so you can put these right on your stick.

2.  Addable Views
For those with CH sticks, whose 8-way hats aren't directly programmable on the diagonals and are hardwired with the diagonals being the sum of the adjacent ordinals, you can get front-left with KP4 + KP8.

For my M$ Force Feedback Pro I used the follwing woraround:

1) Delete all coolie-hat bindings in AH

2) Use M$ Profiler software (V 3.02 necessary) and apply coolie-hat to keyboards´ numeric key pad
