Mora what the heck are you smoking.

Did you read the website, or know anything about the Late Mr. Wright. I followed this from the early creation of the H-1, everyone in the EAA community felt a great sarrow when he died.  With the loss of the H-1 and Wright there may not be another flyable repoduction ever again.

I think mora, like most others, is amazed that someone with such a stellar background and reputation in the aviation buisness would do something as stupid as 1) try to fly a helocopter without any prior instruction or 2) fly a 1 of a kind aircraft cross country with a known gearbox problem.

It's not what he did... it's what he undid.

In my experience as a pilot around other pilots. There is precious little sympathy for fellow pilots who screw up or do something stupid

That looks like my flights in a helo in X-Plane. Why the hell would you try to operate something without any training?

Mora, question, how do you know it is the same guy?

I have never heard this before, if what you contend is true, and they are on in the same, then your statment is quite correct.

I saw the plane at Oshkosh, and I wonder how a man who had such wonderful craftsmanship and attention to detail could be so foolish.  The plane was immaculate.  Some say that he took off with a known gearbox problem on his last flight.  I guess good craftsmanship doesn't imply common sense.
