Sad thing is that people willing to lie like that probably feel little humiliation when exposed.

I wonder what his REAL story is? Probably something along the lines of..."Yeah, I washed out of boot, but I own a copy of G.I. Jane!"
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

We have a guy in the navigation biz that runs aound and boasts of busting impersonators and gives this big bit about honor and stuff.  I understand the SEALs weary of fakers....but let me go on...

This guy wrote a book, a big to-do about honor and such.  He wanted to "review" our software and when he was visiting, was adamant about free copies minus copy protection.  He also was asking if he could get a free copy of our Microsoft Office software, boasting he wrote his book on a pirated copy of MS Word.

We expected to meet a real honorable guy.  We were pretty unimpressed.

Wow... the whole thing is pretty sad actually.

"VeriSeal.com"?

I'm not a big fan of people claiming military service when none was rendered, but I'm not much of a fan of the "special ops" enigma either.  No matter where you went or who you worked with (branches of the military - special ops or not) you found total lamers and exceptional people.  Special ops were no exception.

I met a guy once who claimed he was a wounded hero from the Civil War.

Of course I didn't believe him since I was there and never saw him once.

Did I tell you about the time I shot at Stonewall Jackson?  The shot hit right next to him and he never flinched.  Stonewall indeed.

Bigsky, are you the same guy that flew with Dawg Pound a few years back?  I know it's off topic but I was just wondering

Most of these guys are mentally ill.  Either Narcissistic personality disorder, or histirionic (sic) disorder.

Heh, I'm sorta with MiniD.  I dunno what is more goofy.  Falsely claiming that you are a seal, or being so enamored with your seal status that you have to have an organization to expose blowhards.  I could see going after guys that are hiring themselves out as advisers with seal credentials, but some jerkoff that likes bragging about his made-up seal status to a weekend warrior airsoft group?  It must not have been a very busy week at VeriSEAL, heh.

That cop claiming to be a navy seal could actually be a danger to other people.  Who knows how many people believed him and learned his (probably) bogus tactics.

If they lie about one thing, they will probably lie about something else too.
