Do you use stall limiter?

I've just been reading banana's thread, in which the use of auto takeoff is discussed amongst other things. So I have a question: How many of you dweebs out there use the stall limiter? The reason for asking is simple. In WB, the MA used to allow the player the choice of whether to select stall limiter on or off. It's worth noting that in WB, enablement of the "stall limiter" was known, quite correctly in my view, as "EasyMode™" ;) Well, there came a time when the decision was made to turn it off, so guys no longer had the EasyMode option in the online arena...

...and there was one almighty "WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH" in the arena, as folks realised that their stick settings would not work in DiffiMode. The scale of whining led me to believe that at least 50% of the arena attendance had been made up of "pilots" operating in EasyMode. The trainers had their work cut out helping the dweebs adjust their stick settings.

I don't have stall limiter enabled, but auto combat trim is on. (To be honest, I'm not sure what it does or what difference it makes)

So what are your settings? Stall limiter on or off? What about combat trim? And what about auto takeoff?

Maybe you're a quadruple EasyMode pilot - stall limiter on, auto combat trim, auto takeoff, and choice of plane = N1K.

I don't use stall limiter or auto takeoff.  I actually make a point of making fun of people that I see use auto takeoff.  When I see new people come in, first thing I tell them is disable stall limiter.  I do use combat trim, however...  hope that doesn't make me too much of a dweeb.  Also hardly ever fly n1k.

Never tried it, but I suspect it sucks as much as combat trim and is more of a hindrance than a benefit.

No auto takeoff or stall limiter here.  I do have combat trim on by default, but all the trim commands are mapped to my flight stick so i can adjust trim when necessary.

I use auto takeoff and also do without it. As an example, when I rearm auto takeoff does not kick in.  I guess one could "make fun" of those who use it but I don't see the point.  It's not like taking off w/ out auto takeoff is difficult.  

I use combat trim in flight but in a fight I often have it turned off; use my elevator trim a lot

Stall limiter is off... heck there are times when stalling is just what you need. Also, I know I'm in a tough spot, whether in the vert or turning, if the stall warning is howling.  Can you ride so close to the edge of a stall w/ the limiter on? (Never had it on so I really don't know)

First time I experienced the stall limiter was when I checked out the TA once and noticed my C.205 was turning like a 747.  It castrates a fighter IMO.

It took me a lot longer to figure out that combat trim does almost the same thing in a turn fight - it resists hard manuevers.

As for auto-takeoff, what difference does it make how you take off?  Who are you trying to impress?  Of course, it just don't work with a heavily loaded F4U on a carrier deck.

Then again, some of us just might enjoy manually taking off, and couldn't care less whether anyone else does or not.

i don't use the stall limiter.
i do use combat trim for most part.
i do use auto-takeoff, but can and do takeoff without it.

ever notice how in some planes the combat trim doesn't really?  case in point, F6F. it really, really wants to climb and flop over with combat trim on at slower speeds. in some planes the CT can almost let you fly hands off.

I always disable the stall limiter when I host a room, at least half the people who come in leave because "their plane won't fly right" Never tried auto takeoff. Combat trim is a time saver, but you still have to fine tune manualy to get the best permformance.

I've never used or even tried stall limiter.
Only recently have I started using Combat Trim.  I have two hats mapped for manual trim, and still use them a lot, but also engauge Combat Trim regularly as well.
I use auto take off except when taking off from a turning CV.  Like others said above, taking off isn't exactly hard.  I'm a slow typer, so while my plane is on auto take off I am typically giving an to the guy who just shot me down, or looking at the map, roster, etc.  I also often send my plane down the runway on auto take off while I run and use the can, get a drink, talk to my wife or kids, surf on the other PC, etc.  I'm amazed as to how seldom I get shot down while AFK.  Just today I lost a Tiger on auto drive while taking an espescially big dump however.  My four year old daughter said that, "All these things started whacking your tank, so I pressed the red button to shoot the gun, then this map came up and it was quiet."  LOL.

stall limiter -off (whats the point of this useless thing...if i didnt want the plane to stall i wouldent fly in such a way that it could)
combat trim -on (but i will adjust manually when needed)
autotakeoff -off (it actually takes longer to takeoff with it on...)

I've been flying only the P38 for a little while now and having either combat trim or stall limiter on in anyway will give you a death sentence. Luckily the only trim I really need to play with is the elevators unless I'm carrying unbalanced ord load.

From time to time (more so if I'm chatting) I'll use the autolevel, but mostly so I can free up my fingers.

Your not going to notice the difference between combat trim "on" or combat trim "off" flying E planes flying them as the "book" says besides noticing that no matter the speed, it's trimmed.

You have to knife fight to see the difference. It's dramatic the few times I've had it on. I don't have any of those special boxes checked.

With combat trim "on" in a flying on the edge stall fight, "if" you stall, you'll have a HELL of a time recovering.

HATED IT.

Did a short stint using it and any time she spun it was over.

Not so combat trim "off"

That and I'm real used to using trim keys.

Not for me. Though I know quite a few that use it.

Stall limiter is the same as tying one hand behind your back.

Auto take off has possibilities tho..

i do use auto take off, what does it matter, its a fight sim, not a take off sim.  dont use stall limiter.  do use combat trim, all the time and  fly 38 almost exclusively.  just got use to it i guess.
