very true.
when the sun is out and the wind isn't blowing it feels
almost like t-shirt weather in the 20's.

I lived in Kent, Washington for a while.. woah..
wet-cold was too cold

There is a quote in a book written by an expat which she wrote as a guide for incoming expats moving to the island.  In it she has a quote from a Canadian Air Force officer who had been through all of the Arctic training and who lived in the remote North.

"The coldest I have ever been was in February...in Bermuda".

Only very new homes here have central heating here and as each house is made out of concrete block the moisture levels are really bad.  It is always a few degree colder inside than out.
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain

I was skiing at A-Basin in June, 38 deg. and sunny, with just a T-shirt on ( back in the 80's. )  I took two runs, and was sunburned really bad..I'd forgotten that at 12,000 feet, theres even less atmosphere to protect you from the ultra violet rays of the Sun, combined with the reflection off the snow...ouch!

Well Rip, how much snow did you get today? We had about two inches in University Place when I got up this morning and it was still snowing hard. I made it all the way into work in about an hour. Not a whole lot in South Seattle, but it snowed hard all the way in. Come on up and ride the simulators(lol).
