Hello,
I found this while browsing ebay. It looks to me like it could be a Rumpler. But was it being used after the first world war, or were swastikas used this early?

Isn't the Von Rosen Cross usually straight up and down? A square, not a diamond orientation like the swastika?

Those aren't Finnish markings. What is being portrayed on the wings are most definately Nazi swastikas. If this postcard is genuine and not some sort of retouched fake (even if it dates back to the thirties as claimed) I would say it's a late model WWI aircraft that may have been used for exhibitions or even basic flight training after the Nazi party came to power.

Why is it surprizing to see a plane from the '30s with swaztikas? The Nazi Party (NSDAP) was formed in 1923 (with Hitler in charge), and its forerunner the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (German Workers Party, abbreviated DAP) was formed in 1919. The Nazis used planes and airshows as a propaganda tool along with WWI fighter aces and famous pilots like Göring and Udet.

Look like a Rumpler C.I; the lower wing shape is wrong for it to be a C.IV. If I had to guess, I'd say it was a trainer, pressed into service before Germany built more modern trainers.

hmm... those svastikas look different than the ones in WW2 planes. Maybe it is indeed an early NSDAP show plane, maybe from '20s?
