I tried 0.33 beta on my 1 year and 9 months old P2-300 clunker equipped with a year old STB TNT1 (the very first one).
I selected 1024 to check the level of graphics, expecting to see a slide show. To my surprise I had frame rates 40-60 offline.
What kind of engine is that? Who is supposed to use lower resolutions, people with 286? By the time your game makes it out of beta, my PC will be at least 2 1/2 years old. I bet it would still be able to run it at 1024 or at least 800.
Now, I am dreaming about a new PC this winter with Intel 700+ and GeForce or something similar for graphics. Is all that power and money going to be wasted?
I suggest that you increase the graphics complexity so that the entry-level machine (P2-300 + TNT1) could run AH reasonably well at the lowest resolution (20-30 fps at 640). Or make your graphics engine less efficient so those with high-end machines do not feel bad. The first way is much more preferable

Those 3-D cockpits could really use some more polygons and textures! While extremely functional (bravo on those gauges!), canopy frames are the ugliest things this side of PAW1942.
You are doing a great job!
