It's been below 25 for the last week or so.  Around -10 with wind chill.  It's just starting to warm up, but the clouds are still here... so the freezing rain is starting.  Salem got hit alot worse (ask SOB).  They had about a foot of snow before the temps really dropped.  This is unusual weather for the area since we seldomely stay this cold for more than a few days.

Reports here are that the airport is full of people waiting for canceled flights. Bad mojo.

Did I mention that I'm wearing a t-shirt right now and the top is down on the jeep-wannabe.

Yea... freezing rain is a tough one to fly through.  The airlines usually stay shut down.  They're forecasting warmer temps for tomorrow and 40s-50s for Friday... though... they forcasted 40s for Wednesday last Monday... so we'll sit back and see how that works out.

As for the convertables... I have a friend with a convertable that insists you can drive with the top down more in Oregon than in Cali... you can always turn up the heat to warm up but you need the top up to make the AC work.

Yeah....the Northwest sucks right now.  I have 5 drivers stuck out in different areas of Oregon right now due to ice and snow and Interstates being shut down.

Sad but true. When we hit the triple digits (all too often in the summer) the top goes up.

My house, Everett, WA - 25 miles north of Seattle

2 inches of solid ice on the local street - didn't even bother going to work today - no chains for the car.

Back from the beach. We had summer-like weather today.

Its nice to be able to see girls with only 10% clothing, all year round.

Awesome pics BBGun!

100,000 lost power last night here in the Puget Sound region. Trees laiden with ice downed power lines, etc.  I-90 Interestate, Snoqualmie pass was shut down for 10 hours, due to freezing rain, snow, and lastly, avalanche control crews out blasting snow.  I saw about 10 Semi's parked on the side of the road home tonight, presumably sleeping while they waited for the pass to re-open.

Commuting this AM was interesting, watching what I initially thought was "lightning" was transformers blowing in the distance. 5 of em on the way into work today.

What  mess.

We didn't lose power out in our neck.. Damn, wanted to have my porch lights on again during a power outage. :(

Looks like about the same ice coverage we got here earlier this week.  Happens a couple times a year.  The sucky part is chipping the crap off your car.  But wait till you see the sun rise or set behind an ice coated tree.
