Opinions?

As a life-long Skins fan, this was the best possible news I could ever have hoped for.  Only question now: Will he be able to come back like Dick Vermeil, or will he tarnish his image?

Gibbs was a class act, I wish he would stay away from the NFL and leave his record as is.   It's not worth risking his record on trying to turn the Skins around.  There are plenty of other coaches who can do that.

Exactly, this is not the same NFL that Gibbs coached in... salary caps, rampant free agency...

On the other hand... remember the hype over Spurrier? Hilarious.

Without the Posse he's going to be hurtin'. He still has Coles (atleast the last I heard, Coles hasn't left us) and Ramzey is a good QB with a great career ahead of him (so long as he doesn't get too hurt). But the OF line blows and can just barely protect any of our QBs. The defense was pulling great stuff (then again, they were great last year too). So basically it all comes down to the OF line forming pockets and looking out for the QB.

However, the play calls this season were pretty bad.

Have to wait and see. Should be an interesting season.

I'm hoping for the best.

Gibbs will do great.  After looking at how he kicked butt in the NFL and then went to NASCAR and did almost as well, it's silly to think he won't be able to adapt to minor changes in the NFL.  He probably could win as a coach in any sport.
I wish Walsh would come back too.

It worked for Vermiel, it'll work for Gibbs....it's about the Man and not the NFL. He'll get players who will play for him or they won't be on the team.

I'm glad to see it.

Gibbs and Parcells coaching in the NFC East.  What decade is this again?

I can remember Skins fans booking flights for the following years Superbowl upon announcement of Spurrier as HC. LOL!

"Resigned" today means "given the opportunity to walk without being fired".
