We need to start putting these people in jail.  They are clogging up the courts.

CLEVELAND — A woman said through tears Thursday that she lied about losing the winning ticket for a $162 million lottery prize awarded to another woman.

Elecia Battle (search), 40, of Cleveland, is dropping her lawsuit to block payment of the Mega Millions (search) jackpot to the certified winner, said her lawyer Sheldon Starke.

"I wanted to win," Battle said. "The numbers were so overwhelming. I did buy a ticket and I lost. I wanted to win so bad for my kids and my family. I apologize."

Battle had filed a police report saying she lost the ticket, possibly when she dropped her purse outside a convenience store. The lottery declared Rebecca Jemison (search), 34, of suburban South Euclid, the winner on Tuesday.

Battle said she wanted to use the money to help her family and recently laid-off Cleveland police officers. She apologized to Jemison, her lawyer and her husband.

"I'm not a bad person, I'm really not," she said. "Everyone has a past."

When will those who watch movies, or collect DVD's, begin their lawsuits?

This is from the article, as unbelivable as it is:

Timothy Dumouchel of West Bend wants $5,000 or three computers, and a lifetime supply of free Internet service from Charter Communications to settle what he says will be a small claims suit.

Now that he admits he had free cable for 4 years, and watched it, and new that he was not paying for it, and didn't take reasonable measures to inform the cable company of this...

This entitles the cable company to be counter sue for service charges with interest, court costs and attorney fees.

He'll end up owing $5,000.... what a fool.

Some people just don't know when to shut up.

Here is another one...lady sues walmart b/c he bag broke.

MOUNT PLEASANT -- A Mount Pleasant Township couple wants Wal-Mart to pay for foot and toe injuries they claim were caused by canned goods and condiments that tumbled from an overfilled plastic grocery bag. The Sagers contend Wal-Mart was at fault for her injuries. The store, they claim, failed to properly instruct and train its employees to correctly bag products, negligently provided a defective bag, recklessly overpacked the bag by placing in it too many heavy items, failed to double- or triple-bag the purchases, and placed Brenda Sager in a "position of peril."

She is seeking damages in excess of $30,000.

Her husband also is seeking that amount in damages, claiming that as a result of his wife's injuries he has been deprived of her attention and comfort and suffered a loss of consortium.

Lol, nobody forced her to pick up that "recklessly overpacked" bag.  She could have easily asked that some of the contents be moved.  Or even crazier, moved them herself.  Or asked for double-bagging instead of expecting it would be provided.  Or a hundred other things.

If you're stupid enough to sue over something like this, you probably deserved that grievous canned food injury.
