What are Knights, Bishops and Rooks??

Obviously new to the beta and forum, hence the question.  What are these Chessboard thingies (thats a technical term Ozds   ) and what are they supposed to mean?  Checked the readme file and the gameplay part of the BBS but no mention on either.

Pretty stupid, huh?

Better to retread a workable idea, like colors or letters than this silly subterfuge.

Chess pieces are a reference to many fighter pilots analogy of air combat being "Chess in 3-d"

Wow Stig, rather a bit negative huh?  Did you just stop by to bash, or would you like to help out with some actual constructive criticism?  Ozfigured you knew better, or were a bit more mature, but it doesn't look that way.  How disappointing...

Stigs would appear to have a large bug up his bellybutton for HTC it seems and is just trying to stop by to pee on the campfire.

Not to 2nd guess, but you wouldn't happen to have an Apple logo on that box would you?

I think it's an OK idea. It looks like they are trying to do away with the color wars.
I always hated to hear this color sucks or that color only has weinies flying. Now it's simply Green good Red bad.

Yeah Yeah I know it won't take long before the whiners and the trouble makers start yelling but hey it's worth a try.

No, I have a PC....although I'm still lobbying against hope that AH won't just turn its back on a signifigant group of prospective customers. That is really my #1 gripe against AH. Other than that, sure, I'm willing to give it a chance.

As for the "chess pieces", I just called it as I see it. It's clumsy, kludgy and doesn't bring anything to the game.

As for the 109G-10, I flew it a bit offline yesterday, and kinda liked it....although, the proof of the pudding's in the Spit duel, I guess. Then I changed some of my stick settings, and now I have a big takeoff problem with rightside torque (???). I'll figure it out...

Pyro, it *IS* ok if I mention the 109G, isn't it? I noticed you played Gestapo on my previous "how's the flight model" thread. Now *that* was disappointing....

I played Gestapo with your last post?  Exactly how did I do that Stig?  Wow, next you'll be calling me a nazi, although I guess that's about the same.

You come in here packing an agenda so big you can barely fit it in, and now you're the victim because you're not taken seriously.  Boo-hoo.

As of this morning, it seemed to have disappeared. I searched through a couple pages to find it, but to no avail. But it's been punted back to the top...perhaps I missed it earlier. My bad.

From what people are saying, it's somewhat sluggish but not as sluggish as Brand W's. That would be good news IMHO.

We'll see once I try it out online.

Well, in the grand scheme of things its not very important.  My original reaction was it was a little goofy.  My first impulse was to say that hey! Rooks have a higher point value in chess over Knights and Bishops so thats not fair. ;>  I saw someone else make a suggestion (sorry can't remember handle) that I likes alot better.  Instead of chess pieces, use the card suits.  A carry over from the "Aces" high motif of playing cards.
All the suits are of equal value.  ;>

Oz problem with the card suite thing is that it will force him to fly a particular side.  Ozmeans, what would it look like to have a King of Kings flying for the Jacks or something like that?

Umm, ozKoK?

Suits = spades/hearts/diamonds/clubs

Ok for a KoK to be seen in any of those, tho methinks clubs for ozKoK be particularly appropos considering its namesake's application to disciplinary problems....

Yeah, but I'd just stick with the spades, clubs, diamonds.  Hearts are a little too sensitive sounding.  That'd be the "don't ask, don't tell" service. ;>

Of course, now everytime you kill someone you can yell "CHECKMATE!".

Lol.
