A question: Would this be fun, or wouldn't it be ??
« on: January 09, 2004, 11:10:45 PM »
A question:

Your tooling along in a spitty V off in injun territory and see a pony lower going away. He's moving away from the hub-bub and you have the altitude for pursuit. So you follow him away from everyone.

As you close to a range of 1.2 a high tiffy enters the picture and your the only badguy around.  So now you have two. They're not hooking up so it's managable.  A few passes from each and the tiffy dies.

So now, all way from everyone you find yourself with a pony jockey flying a pony as it should be, and you in the spitty. Six or seven times you meet each workin it, but the pony doesn't break from the E, so it's a draw on every pass. Scanning the horizon it's dots, and the fight continues.

Until your killed by a sneaker that you didn't see coming into the fight at the same time as the merge..

Would that sortie have been fun ??

Or would that absolutely suck ??

I'm curious to different views.

well... you *did* get the tiffy... and the pony wasn't able to run, as much as it probably would have loved to. if it wasn't trying to run and you had those several merges end up in a draw, you should at least admire the pony's willingness to play the game.

and, of course you could have just sent the cherrypicker a, "lol lamerpicker, who was the pony you saved?"  like i would've. :)

i'd say it was a draw sortie.  :aok <---- imagine jesus's face there.

depends, if it is nothing but a repetition of the same pounce trajectories, it's somnifer-fun and I'd rather auger or block-ram the tard.

If the pony pounces in a smart way that forces more than your spine to react, that's more fun and a shame you don't live to see the conclusion.

Doesn't suck, but still a pretty flat fight, unless you learned something new in it.

Gotta expect the unexpected.  Can shrug it off in cyber.  Fun until died, and then still another lesson for the future.

Particularly helpful if can stay cool about it and give blood pressure a break for longevity.

Anytime 2 diff planes get a chance to duke it out for that long IMO its a good sortie.

Frustrating perhaps because you got sneaked up on. But you did get the tiffy.

Chalk it up to the cost of doing business in a spit V and go roll another one.

I enjoyed it. The Pony did reverse when the tiffy dropped in Slap.

The Pony was doin the pony thing. Got to do a good deal of work on the 3/4 off angle merge Spit flip, trying different throttle things to accomplish it quicker. 375 heading away was the closest I got. Just out of reach. If the Pony had attached a rubber band to the merge instead of extending everytime it would have got interesting from both points of view.

But getting someone to hang around and work it was the fun all by itself.

Got comfortable alone and let the guard down waiting for the Pony to bite.

That's two good ones this week. Did a spitty 5, 190 A5 fight a few nites ago. That one was with rubber bands, good fight.
