Has anyone noticed how cool ditches are now?
It seems alot easier to ditch now, too.
Ditching is now very exiciting and can now happen from most angles and areas (as long as you are at low speed.)
For example, I was taking a 190 of a carrier and some bug caused my propeller to go out. I fell off the deck and hit the ground nose first. My plane instantly started to tumble across the water like a rock skipping across the water, my plane falling apart more and more with every impact. It caught on fire as it is finally tumbled back onto its belly and rested there. I saw the cv approaching and the cv then started pushing my aircraft across the water (no joke) and eventually it flipped over and i got the messege you have been killed.
Another incident was I didn't get enough e after takeoff andI stalled. I ditched rather nicely, just like I would land, only I wasn't on a runway and I didn't have any gear down. The impact gave the plane a jolt and I just looked ahead of my cockpit as grass and bushes raced by my plane, the sound of grinding steel kinda irritating my ears. My plane had yet to lose any parts, but ahead of my bent prop I saw a small cluster of about 4 trees. My left plane wing ended up clipping the trees and it tore right off as my plane did a 180 degree spin in the dirt where it finally came to a stop.
wtg htc on the ditches:aok
One thing I would like to see is a little "cutscene" of your plane tumbling across the ground when you crash, like in warbirds. Actually right now that pretty much happens, just at high speeds it just does the old "you have been killed messege."
Sometimes I have been shot down and tried to ditch and my plane hit the ground and did a barrel roll in mid air where it blew up upon impact...seeing crash wipeouts like this would be cool.
The new damage model is coming nicely toghether-i am anticipating the damage model when you shoot down another plane...I would like to see it along the lines of CFS2, where you shoot a plane and debris comes off, then if you hit the engine it catches on fire...in the current ah the engine seems to only catch on fire until half your plane is missing...
