"The Turner Diaries".

Just read it.   The suppossed "blueprint" for the OK City fedral building bombing..

Much as the author loves old Adolf... He still thinks Hitler was a softy.

On the one hand he claims the holocost was made up but on the other he wants to hunt down and kill every jew in the world in adolfs name...

Stange book.   surprissed even me the justifications the human mind can grasp for the things it wants.

Is it coincidence that you read this book the same weekend that The History Channel featured it in one of their shows?

That's where I heard about it a few years ago, featured in a show about some murder or robbery or something.

Was this a show specifically dedicated to it?

Robert Mathews was a Neo Nazi who was involved in the murder of a Jewish Talk show host in the early 80s. He formed a group that called themselves "The Order Of The Silent Brotherhood" or as in that book "the Order". He wished to bring about the same things in that book.

They also robbed several banks and armored cars and were involved in counterfeit money. Robert Mathews got into several shootouts with the FBI and was eventually was trapped in a farmhouse and burned to death as a result of the FBI trying to get him out. A flare IIRC started the fire.

Robert Mathews gave out the money to several different Nazi groups. William Pierce is the name real name of the author of the Turner Diaries. He was head of the National Alliance until his recent death. Supposedly Mathews gave Pierce a large sum of money which allowed him to by a large compound in West Virginia.

Pierce also wrote another book called Hunter. It was about a white man going on a lone wolf sniper spree randomly killing folks across the country.

There have been other instances of "sniper types". The guys name escapes me right now but there was a white guy that killed several folks due to his racist beliefs and is reported to have shot both Larry Flint and Vernon Jordan. IIRC correctly he may have killed as many as 50 people including 2 young black boys that he sniped from a railroad overpass.

I don’t recall if this book was based on or if it inspired this guy. I am sure a search would clear that up.

Got  the book a few months ago but just got around to reading it..  I actually read about half of it a month ago but just finished last week...  Hard book to read too much of in one sitting.   Not really "disturbing" so much as strange.   You know you are getting a glimplse into the mind(s) of a few but not many, people.   The matter of factness of it is strange.

I haven't seen the History channel special on it but would like to.   Have heard of Mathews and "the order".  And of course, Pierce.

knew a bunch of AB guys back in the day but...  they certainly weren't  much on organization.

I was channel surfing during a NFL game break and rather than sit through another Lexus commercial I decided to see what was happening on History Channel.  I watched a minute of a show where the book was discussed as a blueprint for snipers and terrorists, but only saw a couple of minutes then turned back to the game.  It was a weekend, during the day, so chances are it was a repeat of a show.  I think somebody had mentioned it had aired a few years ago, so it would make sense that it was the same show.
