RIP Paintmaw
« on: August 18, 2001, 03:30:00 PM »
I was peacefully flying today, and noticed a AH tragedy on the open channel.

Apparently, some unknowing 202 was unfortunate enough to meet a highly skilled F4U-C pilot  head-on.

Due to unknown circumstances apparently, the 202 succumbed to the ACM mastery of the F4 U-C zoom gun sight and subsequent barrage of 20mm’s, and well, unexpected but true, Paintmaw was the victor.

The thing is, it just said “Victory 1 by Paintmaw. ????

When asked why he had no squad name, he responded, “I hate guys that are foolish enough to have “GrandMAw, FunkyMaw, TardMaw, I’m not a Goon or in the Maw’s, etc…dictate our squad mission base captures. It almost seems as if we are being made fun of.”

Apparently, he will email Yankee with a request for a new callsign, “AintMAw.”

So be it, but we all say “Good luck from the FDB’s!”

Last year's cohiba?
So do you, Mr. Dog, admit to having benefited a government that illegally profits from lands improperly seized from God-fearing and local-exploiting US corporations?

ERr...  I think it was one of BC's Sec's of state that, in answer to such a question (Which then got Bill into a heap a trouble), "You don't look a gift cigar in the mouth!"
and yet, not a couple years later, what brand is Bill using to do his dirty business?

Damn fine cigars though.

Oh yeah? The point?
Dude_in_goon_MAW: sorry MAW folks, this one can't die; still probly my best AH memory.  The best I can suggest is to get another huge AW squad to come over and give 'em a similar hazing.

Um.. biguc.. you need to read that post with your "Creamo Filter" on.

"I was vulching a base and while trying to see how many kills I'd gotten so far I noticed a system message in the text buffer."

Translation:
"I really have no idea what the pilots were flying, but can only assume that if paintmaw got a kill he was in an F4u-1C and the victim was in a C.202... and it was most likely a HO"

Of course, Paintmaw has 0 kills in an F4u-1C and 0 kills against a C.202.

Translation:
"I asked him on-line why he wasn't a MAW anymore (quite tastefully I might add), but did not get a response from him.  So, I come here to make fun of both him and his former squad in attempt to goad them into revealing what happened.  The truth is, I've always secretely wanted to be in the MAW."

Translation:
"Just because you aren't in the MAW anymore doesn't mean that the FDPs aren't going to make fun of you for the 'GoonMAW' RW incident.  Just thought you'd like to know that."

You see... when you read it with the Creamo translator on, you see that there really isn't a need to bring the "CHog pilots are no skill HO artists" N/T into the thread.

Carry on.

Kieran, there's a thread on it from about 6 months ago (give or take a half a year).  It was on the island terrain, the MAW had been in AH for about a month, and someone figured out that they were using channel 209 for RW.  In a chain of events that was never fully understood, the information came into the hands of the Assassins, who then told the FDB.
The rest, well, I'll leave to someone else.

Kieran, what that link doesn't explain is...sort of-

Apparently, the MAW’s had a RW channel above 200 and usually all squad channels are private, UNLESS, you use a number above that. For some reason the MAW’s were using a private host.

Someone found that out, and in no time, the FDB’s, Funky, Hblair and crew, geez, a whole bunch of us anyway, were on their “not so private” squad channel RW.

Well they were well organized, at least to the point they were Jabo’in bases, waiting for goons.

Inevitably, the questions came in from MAW guys, like, “Anyone got a goon for xx base?”

Of course, Fatty and others were saying on RW “CC, 2 clicks out!” All the while logged in as Tard_MAW, Goon_On_the_Way_Maw, etc…and noone had a goon, we were all NME.!

They would deack, and frantically call for the goons, which were from us said to be “OMW!”

When they finally caught on, the host, was calling out people in his RW session. The one that flipped me off my chair was “ Is Tard_Maw in the squad?!”

Hysterical, and you just would have had to be there. A great AH night.

Someone could well describe it better, but that’s kinda what happened. J

That is truly epic. The only way that would have been better was to have it happen while you all were at the con.

Bookmarked for the dark moments that need a laugh!
