Judging on the number of posts and the hours on-line of some people, combined by the rabid 'passion' with which they play, discuss, defend and flame, occasional players will always be at a disadvantage. Heck, I even avoid playing most nights because I am too tired!
A few months ago I shot down a very well known AH player (I got lucky, I'm a reasonable AH-pilot but no match for the fanatical core). I checked his stats, he had over a 100 fighter kills with one (!) death. It still is beyond me how anyone can manage that with a decent K/H too. If I take a month off, only fly a P-51D and only engage when everything is in my favour, I still can only HOPE of matching a 100 to 1 K/D. How do they do it? Squad tactics? More favourable 'prime time' hours (meaning more and more inexperienced players)? Cheating? I don't understand. Point is, last night I shot him down again, he was happily vulching among a pack of countrymen and I dove in with a large height advantage. Like the first time I got him his SA seemed overloaded. But if I can shoot him down twice by surprising him, why can't others? Luck? Anybody can see that this tour my stats are very average at best...
