I'm just curious if this is something that will someday be implemented?  I noticed that in the Spitfire it doesn't even have it's mirror assembly there and it'd be nice if someday it could be added and be functional?

To voice a good reason why not, I recall reading a statment by a Spitfire pilot who described the mirror as useless because a 109 had a wingspan of about a typed dash when viewed in the mirror and in range.

That is about this big:

-

and that is in reality.  In the compressed view of AH it would be more like:

.

The frame rate hit and the development time probably aren't worth it.

It seems to me that they might be useful only to help alert you to the presence of another aircraft, and then you'd have to look back to actually track his actions.

Il2 has hurricane? not FB?

mirrors are not useless in RL (still are in fighters)

but looking at part of screen used as mirror , its should be 100x100 pix? or even 200x200? its avatar size , nothing can be seen.
In RL mirrior have much bigger resolution

Even if somone like to plug in mirrors in to game, zoom and change head possition will take same time as looking back

So will be only nice add-on, not improve

If an enemy on your six is close enough to be seen in the mirror, then you'll certainly notice the tracers zinging by you. :)

In IL2 you notice they dont have an exact 6 view like we do here, therfor mirrors would be useless here.

just a thought.
