After researching it further I stand corrected. 765 F8F-1's were armed with 4 .50's. a total of 441 F8F-1B's, F8F-1N's, F8F-2's,and F8F-2N's were armed with 4 20 MM.

I have only seen pictures or read about the 20MM variants.
