To SaburoS about Canon 10D

I went to a camera shop today to buy a grey card, and since the shop was empty at that moment, I had a lot of free time, and the clerk looked somewhat bored, I started to talk about digicams with him, just to kill some time. Well, he ended being a very nice guy, and he let me play with a Nikon D100, a Canon 300D and a Canon 10D, and what can I say... the 10D left me a very very good impression. So good that I'm now considering buying the 10D instead of the D70 I started looking at a camera wich costs "only" 1200€ with lenses and now I'm doubting between a 1500 and a 2000€ camera+lens set... hell, I could buy a nice used car with less than that!!!



BTW, how good/bad is the Canon 28-200 USM? Any possibility to cover the mild wide-long tele range for less than 500€?

Try to get the lower priced Canon "L" lenses (used if money's an object)
70-200mm F/4.0 L USM
17-40mm F/4.0 L USM

You'll  not have to worry about future Canon DSLR compatability with Canon lenses. If you wish to go for bang for the buck, check out these review sites:

Just some links to go by.

For some good brands other than Canon, try looking into Sigma, Tokina, and Tamron. Careful with the older non-Canon lenses as some seem to have a compatability problem with the newer DSLR's.
