Zero pressure... an absolute vacuum.  It would be a matter of wether you froze solid prior to exploding... or in the act of it.

You mean the internal pressure of 1 atmosphere (14.7 PSI or 34 feet of water) compared to the external pressure of 0 would cause a person to explode?

That means a diver quickly ascending from the depth of just 34 feet would explode. That is not the case - people dive to much greater depths and rapidly ascend without impoding or exploding.
At most, we would expect a major burp/fart and ears popping and some ofthe air escaping from the lungs (if there is no air tank available) and maybe some abdominal cramps.

The blood and water in our tissues would not boil at all, let alone explosively, since at 0 pressure water boils at 157 Farenheit - which is way above our normal body temperature.

Space is not 'zero pressure'...

Miko, you are correct that every 33ft (not 34) is one atmosphere underwater.. Every 33ft you go deeper the atmospheric pressure increases one more unit.. The worst is the first 33 feet because the pressure doubles in that span.. Thats why most all 'normal' safety stops are performed within 33ft of the surface..

Space is not 'zero pressure' but rather a vaccum... Its on the opposite end of the spectrum... Absolute vaccum? maybe.. I'm not certain of the measurement...

I believe I have read at 60k ft above the earths surface the pressure/tempurature would cause blood to boil if exposed directly..

In space a human body would explode (if slowly) outward because of the absance of any pressure....

Actually, you are both correct.  It is 33 ft for salt water, 34 for fresh.

LoL we hijacked the third thread of this car!

Thanks Martlet... Suppose im too ignorant to have thought of that.. hehe I've never been diving deep or long enought in fresh water to have to worry about it... Specially before I got a dive computer.. Dive charts suck.. hehe

I haven't used a dive chart in years.

When I was doing commercial diving, the more equipment you had, the more stuff got in the way.  All I ever dove with was a air guage.
