AH time well spent

Howdy All,

I just emptied the 5 gallon crock here in my den. I removed 22 pounds of beer bottle caps. (I weighed it when my wife stated there was probably 20 pounds in there.)

Who said my time spent playing AH would never amount to anything?

Cheers! (After all, it's time to start over!)

We are guessing that this started about seven years ago. Like the rings in tree trunk, the layers of caps gave testament of the changes from the lush times to the lean. (Those caps are from a cheaper brand of beer.)
A few odd caps have also surfaced from friends who have stopped by to have a cold one with me.
In the end I bagged the caps up and put them in the attic. I have not decided if I should try to fill the 5 gallon crock again... or should I try to find a 10 gallon crock and just keep this going?

hehe dont feel bad, i have a 5 gallon pail full of beer bottle caps too.

I dont know how or why I started collecting them, it was prolly about 3 years ago or a little bit more. It started out as just an ice cream pail that sat on top of my fridge. My friends and I would just toss the caps in the pail after opening our beer.

I used to share an appartment with a Scottish lad.  One day I remember opening a kitchen drawer looking for....I dunno, something......and the drawer was full of beer bottle tops.  I said to him "Shawn, why is this drawer full of bottle tops?"

His reply:   "Oh, pure lazyness mate."

Fair enough.

I'm not sure if this is an urban myth, but I heard a story about a poor student in Scotland who made solid blocks of porridge in his chest of draws to save money on food.

Apparently he was the first person in 400 years to be checked into the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for scurvy.

When I was in college me and my roomates saved our beer caps, the plan was to cover a coffee table top, Never happened. Too drunk I guess. I did save a lot of beer labels and covered a lamp, because it was an awful pink. I'm gonna have to post a pic sometime.

When we moved out, We had a cardboard box full of Beer caps and a trash bag full empty Marlboro packs.

Me and g/f got the following from marlboro

3 Zippo lighters
2 T-shirts
2 Sleeping Bags
1 Wool Blanket
1 Inflatabile Bed
1 Marlboro Book Bag (More of a laptop pack)
1 Marlboro Leather Bag
1 Ashtray

Never underestimate the power of Pack rats.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!
