I'm only half-Welsh and live in England.  Was in Cardiff in November and it was okay.  It's the whole British weather, it's very unpredictable but the better warmer/dryer months are often May, June, July & August.  Having said that the weather has been quite forgiving lately and the temperatures have been increasing.

So... take a gamble! :)  Summer daytime temps are around 22 deg C to 30 deg C.

Look out for Revvin, I think he lives in Cardiff.

Take waterproof clothing, your own food (unless you like Leeks) and a bobble hat - you'll be fine.

10 things to note about Wales:

1) Nice countryside

2) Worst football hooligans evar, but because they are not English they are ignored

3) Huge chip on shoulder about being crap at Rugby

4) Small but determined political movement concerned with turning Wales into a third world country (otherwise known as Independence from England)

5) Wonderful place to set-up factories if you're foreign and fancy some UK government money, which can then be syphoned out of the country before you close down said factory due to 'an unfortunate downturn in the global economy'

6) Nice people apart from Cardiff City football fans and my old flatmate, Sue

7) Nice pubs with nice beer (generally)

8) Catherine Zeta Jones

9) Err...

10) That's it!

Prices from Heathrow to the States have been really cheap lately, as low as $350 just for a return flight.  Do a search for budget airlines which will still list the big airlines.

$1900? whew that's high. A quick look at BA's website threw up a return flight to London for $593 in May/June from Dallas. You could also try flying to Manchester, that's close to Wales.
