He was going to cut back on expenses and priced the Honda Civic Hybrid for its low cost and fuel economy.  Then he went out and bought a brake kit for his scuby.

LOL, true.
OTOH, front pads were shot, and the fluid needed changing (30k miles), and I got a super deal on the brake kit + labor, and they threw in the 30k service because I was a new customer, so it was almost a wash.
Plus I cancelled two trips next month which will save me ~$1.5k.
So neener neener.

Roads like that are fun... right until you catch up with the siteseer.  They aren't nearly as fun at 15mph.

Yep.  I got out at night usually, less traffic, but you need to know the road well.  I wouldn't drive Mt. Hamilton or Morgan Territory at night, too dangerous.  You screw up on those roads and they won't find you until after the cougars and coyotes are done with you.
