How 'bout them Eye-Oh-Wuns?

Looks like Mr. Dean made a real big splash. Not. So far.

He'll probably do better next week though. "Ayup!"

And, just to lighten things up a bit:

Quote
You know you're from New Hampshire -

- if you own only three spices - salt, pepper and ketchup.

- if you design your Halloween costumes to fit over a snowsuit.

- if you have more miles on your snow blower than on your car.

- if 10 of your favorite recipes are for moose.

- if Home Depot is busier on any Saturday than the toy stores at Christmas.

- when driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.

- if you think everyone from the city has an accent.

- if your definition of sexy lingerie is tube socks and a flannel nightie with 8 buttons instead of 3.

- if you owe more money on your snowmobile than on your car.

- if the local paper covers all the national & international news on 1 page, but devotes 6 pages to sports.

- if you call AAA when your snow blower gets stuck on the roof.

- if you think the first day of hunting season is a national holiday.

- if 'winning the lottery' means you get to hunt moose.

- when summer takes place the second week of July.

- if you know which leaves make good toilet paper.

- if you find -20°F a little chilly.

- if the trunk of your car doubles as a deep freeze.

- when you attended a formal event in your best clothes, finest jewelry and your LL Bean boots.

- if shoveling the driveway constitutes a great upper body workout.

- if you know the 4 seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Bad Sledding.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Not half as entertaining as a whole when compared to Dean's meltdown.

If anyone else listened to Howard this morning on the way into work you've probably still got tears in your eyes.

Bush is Hitler?  My bellybutton - Dean's psycho screaming speach sealed the deal for him.  Everyone said Dean would shoot himself in the foot - didnt think he'd do it in the first state.

Ill post a clip if I can find one - comedy gold.

Weazley Clark's a couple beers short of a six-pack, too.  The Iowa Dems did their party a big favor by putting a sane man in the driver's seat to go up against Dean and Clark in NH.

I NEVER watch politics, but did today, and if Saurdork is alluding to what I saw, Dean was indeed just insane! He let out a "Whoop" in his speech  that was a cross between a retard and a drunken Indian. It was alarming. It was so bad I'd a felt embarrassed for him if he wasn’t trying to sit himself as the most powerful man in the world. Scary.

John Edwards reminded me of a scripted movie politician ala the Stephen King movie “The Dead Zone.” Actually, Dean fit the role, but he was so out of his mind in his speech it wouldn’t be believable he could be President.Yikes.

Anyway, I’d vote for Kerry.

I am not a Dem or from Iowa so I don't care too much about their primary/caucus but Gephardt was the real surprise with only 11%.

I am glad to as this means (provided no one offers him the VP spot) he's off the main stage in national politics for the near future. I never cared for him at all.

I wasn't real surprised that Kerry finished first; I think he is the better of the lot. Dean only getting 18% with all that effort and money is a minor surprise. I thought he would run second. He has some money in reserve and I am curious to see if he can keep raising money. If he doesn’t win in NH the donation well should dry up. It kind of puts the Gore endorsement into perspective. He looked like a real Kook after his raving speech.

Edwards made a good showing but most likely will get elbowed out by Clark.

Reflecting on it all, the one thing that simply amazes me is how fast time flies.

Here we are in the 2004 Primary season already!

Jeez, where did the time go? I remember being in the middle of B-767 school when the whole "hanging chad" debacle blew; "crisis of the Republic" stuff. Getting out of the sim and hauling to the watering hole to catch up on the situation.

Seems like only yesterday..... but we're sneaking up on four years gone.

Maybe they oughta let the Prez have a six year term like the Senators and reduce/slow down the amount of hoopla a bit. It'd give a little more continuity to the government and time for things to actually get done between elections.

Just a thought.

Then Clinton would still be in office.  As would Saddam.

You should do what we do and let the PM call the election when he feels like it (OK that's an exaggeration).

This Dean fella can't be as bad as Gore. That head to head thing back in 2000 where Gore walked up to Bush while Bush was doing his spiel made me cringe. I'm sure Dubya was scared crapless by some overweight 50 year old, lifetime politico squaring off to him. What a dick.

Oh, it would make for different history for sure. I'm not sure it would be the end of the world though. We've survived worse. We've done better. That's the usual epitaph of most Presidents.

But I guess I'm not that interested in this endless dog and pony show. It just seems like it continually goes on without surcease.

It's almost like the "only 300 Shopping Days until Christmas" barrage....... rather than interesting me in shopping, it elicits a "bah, humbug".

Really, this campaign began well over a year before the actual election. The maneuvering probably began in 2000, really.

ill start my own mini discussion: -

Fire-arms should be banned in USA because the people there are too stupid to use them.

And..

"Tony Blair is an egotistical salamander"

examine and discuss the above statement in no more than 200 words.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

You don't get to vote on any amendments to the US Consitution. We tossed yer sorry butts out back in 1776.

Tony is YOUR problem. :p

There, far less than 200 words.  :D
