reformating blues
« on: January 20, 2004, 02:41:40 AM »
I just re formatted my drive and reinstalled AH, when I try to start I get the following:   C:\programfiles\htc\aceshigh\aceshigh.exe

Then this:
aceshigh.exe file is linked to missing export Dsound.dll:12

I followed the advice in the earlier posts, I have the latest drivers for both my sound and video card, as well as directX 8.0 & 9.0, is there anything else that could be causing this problem? Any help much appreciated!!!!!!!!

That error is caused by one of two things.  Either an older version of DirectX, which is usually the problem, or the sound card drivers (not the Windows sound drivers) are not installed.

Run DXDIAG (Start->Run->DXDIAG) and checkthe DirectX version in the "System" tab, and then run the diagnostics for the sound card (under the Sound tab) for more information.
