Dago: Miko only posts stuff that he reads on his Libertarian newsletter. I doubt he has had an original thought in his life.
So what? After 3000+ years of recorder human inquiry there are not many original thoughts that a person with our intelligence could make.
I do not claim to have invented libertarianism all by myself. I have intelligence to understand it, compare it with other systems of thoughts, apply it to real-life situations and explain it's premices and implications.
Most people unfamiliar with the ideas of libertarianism could care less if I am the original creator of the ideas - what they care about is that the idea is original - new - to them.
How many original thoughts did you have in your life? You are spewing the official party line, what's so original here? You are stuck in accusing me of neing non-original, while sticking you nose into every thread of mine. How original is that?
Speaking of original, how many original thoughts any of our presidents had? Show me one president with a Nobel Prize or any other accepted acknowlegement of the original thinking.
Rip, in case you haven't noticed, Miko hates everything our country does.
If you believe that the government and the country are the same thing there is not much one can say that would penetrate your head.
slimm50: Oh, good grief, Miko2D! What kinda world would we have if if every time we saw a threat the military, for example, said something like "OK you pukes, lissinup!
Americans did not need a government to raise in revolt against british. The founding fathers envisioned, implemented and enshrined in the constitution a defencive force based on voluntary militia.
As for times the government sees a threat, how else would it justify an agressive war than by a fake threat? It's the oldest trick in the book. Rome has never in its history conducted an offensive war - only defencive ones.
Let's see a show of hands. Anyone not interested can go back to whatever it is you were doing
So what? If I do not care to defend against someone, why should I have to? When Canadians invaded in 1812, many people were ready to fight to the death (not many, otherwise they would not have raised the Washington) but some probably did not mind being occupied by canadians.
Why should such people have been coerced to fight for someone else's goals?
pays my taxes, and if I don't like how the tax dollars are spent, I become more politically active: write letters, vote for candidates who think more like I do, etc.
What are you talking about? If you are in a minority, your opinion does not matter. Any attempt to circumvent the will of majority would be subverting the principles of democracy.
