Once I started a thread about a similar request for AH(1).  The main idea was to highlight words that you locally have in a small text file.  Instead of only having your name highlighted, you could have many alias.

Example, my file would look like that:

Joyful
Joy
JF
Joyflu
jyoful

etc etc

That would be really no big deal since the file/support is local.

Good idea Swoop.

A additional idea might be to have text with your name in it break through the channel 1 squelch.  That way those of us who squelch channel 1 due to the politics/shane, ect BS could still exchange post fight salutations..  If somebody were misusing this feature it would be easy enough to squelch them personally.

Why would you want your nic highlighted on a private channel?  Private channels will be either yellow or white text anyway and there won't be a discussion about WMDs or politics or how big someone's dick is going on.

This is a very good idea!
And would be extreemly simple to do as well.
