1941 just before he was caotured in august.


  wingman: were you going to ram him sir.  BADER: " If throwing my legs at them would work I would do it"



 Douglas Bader wore artifical legs to fly. After crashing in 1931, he proved he could still fly and had eighteen kills before spending rest of war in POW camp.
