2nd Car
« on: January 26, 2004, 06:53:19 PM »
Family, err, Parents, are thinking of a 2nd car.

We need a cheap one under 10k.

No older then 2001.

And 4 door.

Anyones you suggest?

I got my eye on a Ford Escort SV....

Red, Sport Pedals, 6 speed, rims, tail, and RED!

Mom wants a red car, she says if I help pay I can take it when I leave for college. :D

Jetta or Escort are going to be it.  Maybe a couple of others that you wouldn't want to pay 10k for new.

Hawk...have your folks look at a Mazda Protege MP3.  They are drop dead reliable, practical, fun to drive (if you get the 5sp) and handle great.

Try a 2001 Grand Am 4 door sedan. I'd stand by my grand am handsdown, and you're sure to be able to find one under 10k used.

Go with a Saturn. I have had 3 now and all were solid and comfortable. Good mileage as well.

Saturn also.  My 1991 is still running just fine.

Avoid VW, especially Jettas, like the plague.
