Excellent, I'm currently building a 1:24 scale model of BBD at the mo.  I'm really looking forward to seeing your skin.  I was gonna do a BBD skin next, but I think I'll pick another now:)

The only problem with all the checkerboards on the cowl, is that the game stretches the pattern, so the top of a checkerboard cowl, really isnt a checkerboard.  I dont know how or if it iss possible to fix.

REV,

I think trial and error is gonna be your best bet.  Take a template draw some lines.  It should become apparent fairly quickly as to how much you need to correct the postion of the lines by to make it work right.  Don think theres a quick and easy fix:(

If you get stuck lemme know and ill help you work it out.

Here is what happens to the cowl. As you can see, I have removed the lettering and numbers, as well as started the rudder. NOTE" The wing surfaces are from another skin" If you know how to fix the checker problem, let me know. thanks

Rev, I noticed the same problem while checkering a small portion of the prop.

What you need to remember is that the side portion of the 2D skins aren't going to appear exactly the way they appear when you view the 3D model.  They are wrapped and stretched as the skin is applied ingame.  If you have even, square checkers, they will become stretched (as in your pic, and in this pic):

Whe you're viewing the 2D skin, try to imagine what it will look like when it is applied to a 3D model... much like a soup label covering a can of soup.  I haven't tried this and I am not sure how it will turn out in the game, but what I suggest is this:

You'll have to play around with it, but try to skew and stretch your 2D skin so it 'appears' correct when applied in the 3rd dimension.

Too bad I'm such a dolt in arts and graphics.

Would you all mind to send me your skins?

I am going to make an uber p38 and f4u. I am already finding photos for the cockpit and working on skin textures:D

IMO, the models we have currently could use some work.
