It's automatic....BUT there is away around it. let me dig up some more pics and show you. Actually in the photo the ships in the harbor on the side is actually a corner tile w/ a reskinned void i placed over the corner to change the automation of the terr0018 placement.
Reskin Lava or lake and use it to break up the sterility of every terr0018, terr0019 and terr0020. You can rotate the void if you want, I did this for the pearl Harbor map. Another trick I used and works really really really great. I see you have used a void to make the atoll parts and rotated them. I also see waves.... I used a void and made it a wave .BMP and also redid the alpha tile that goes along with it, now place the wave void where you like it at zero hight, now offset and slightly rotate another one close to it but raise it 10 feet, now do this again and raise it to 20 feet, now as you fly past it the waves really look like they are moving and lapping the shoreline.
BTW i have plenty of extra reskinned voids, tiles, buildings, bridges ( which i got working to cross a full tile) walls, barns, ships, etc.
I can post some .res files you can fly around and get some ideas, I have a map called COFFEE that has some really nice dormant volcanos, a pearl harbor map, and a map that uses some really nice raised tiles to hide GV's and roads that works really nice.
