look close at the center island theres a big fat volcanoe on the right side of it hehe a couple other volcanoes lurking around so far too.

can you clerify what you mean by atoll? circular land form with water in the center?


as to factories they will still be present but i think barges will be present instead of trains resupplying them

because of the way we are taught to read the natural progression and flow of fighting in a main arena goes left to right and top to bottom.

because of this the country in the south or southeast is the side that will be hit most often not because of any weakness but because of the intuitive flow of the fighting.

on festerMA all 3 sides are identical but players percieve the north side to be unbeatable and the southeast side to be a gangbang corner.

thus to actually balance each side the lower country needs to be given slight tactical advantages to combat the higher amount of attacks the side recieves.

But what happens when the players on the south side has more numbers than the East or West?

It then turns the whole situation around. The east and west parts of the map are now in a disadvantage because of the South side being very hard now to taticaly get because of the slight defense they have.

This is just a over-view of the map and talking strat. Though, all 3 sides should have equal options to attack each othere.

Just my 2 cents.

Its because most players are right handed, read from left to right,and have a tendency to follow things clockwise from 12oc down.   (translation = everyone heads for the SE corner)


Hey Fester do we get a black sand isle were the volcano is ???

Yep.  That's it.  A U-shaped island where one part of the volcano rim has collapsed and the center has filled with ocean water.  The island is actually the rim of the extinct volcano.  Bikini atoll is a famous example.



This is Blue Hole, of Belize.



Some island chains are actually separated pieces of a volcano rim.  Notice in the below map that there's an airport on one of the islands.

fester why no supporting ships for some cv's?  i'm sure you've got a good reason.

and if no supporting ships for some, will cv destruction poundage still be 8k for those?

it  seems the design of the map lends to longer airfield to airfield flights and more about the CV to CV or CV attacking fights. since we as a squad can't fly from CV's we will be behind the action most of the time.

the screenshot looks very promising.. if HTC approves the current layout (with islands with 2 airbases within 5-10 miles of eachother) it will be a great map. if they make Fester change some of the base layouts it has the chance to be frustrating for somone like myself.

the current bigisles map is the worst for a squad like ours. long flights to defend a base thats porked and being attacked from a CV... only to have a black puffy-ack popcorn you over your own field 30 seconds after you get there. (chk my kill stats... my number 4 thing that kills me is manned guns... that doesn't include  the 18 flying along... POOF in the tower "you have been killed" and noone getting credit)

oh well just a lame though by yours truly.

the map really does look great. textures look pleasing to the eye. i hope to get to kill lotsa blue planes on it !

maybe we'll get luck and it will be up during our squad's "dweeb week"



sry if my comments sounded negative... im just burnt out over bigisles. yes i choose to fly LW only planes. yes i know that limits me. i have a secret love of flying blue planes. im sure your map will be a hugh hit in the MA Fester. good luck and keep em coming.

i made the base distances varry from 20 to 30 miles in most places. only in  key spots is there large gaps (the flanks).

im not interested in forcing land based dweebs to fly far to find a fight. it didnt work in bigisles it wont work here.
