As For best looking aircraft:-

Fighter: Spitfire, hands down
Light bomber: Blenheim
Medium Bomber : Mossie
Heavy : B17F
Ground Attack : Typhoon (never appreciated it til i saw one for real)

One plane that seems to catch everyones imagination for some reason is the PBY Catalina.   I would think that might be in the transport class/flying boat.    I dont know that it would be useful in AH but It would be on my neat to see list.

but the rest age like streetwalkers.


hurri is sweet,
B-17 is beautiful
Ju-88 is wunderschon


German aircraft look menacing and warlike from Do-18 and Fw-200 to fighters.

American and Soviet are functionally beautiful

Japanese are funky looking.but the paint jobs make em look good.

English build em 1 of 4 ways. Slow,Ugly, Slow and Ugly,and WTF?

ex.
1 Hurri Slow but Purty
Ugly Tempest,anticipating Boeings strangled fish look by 50 years
Slow and Ugly, any bomber
WTF? Boulten Paul Defiant, Fairy Battle, Vickers Wellesley
