When you're shot up and going down (it happens I'm told) what is the score benefit to bailing (a) over friendly territory or (b) over enemy territory where you are likely to be captured?

Helps your k/d ratio... If you bail ditch or get captured you get a fraction of a death.

To see how the scoring/ranking system formulas calculate, you can go to the Aces High Home web page and select Help, Game Overview, Scoring.

You'll see that in the "death" multipliers listed the difference between bailing and living isn't much different from bailing and getting captured. However, there is a big difference between bailing and dying versus bailing and living.

A disco is a nightclub that plays that funky 70's music, [ahem] you mean disco in AH, don't you. :D

Well a disco in AH is where you have lost connect with the host and are dumped/disconnected from the server, instead of being reported as a death/crash/bail etc it reports a disco.

this is the for the best points, and perks....

Landing is the best,
ditching is next,
bailing is next,
dieing is left  :)

Not sure of the point/perk count, but have heard that you get FULL points/perks for landing, 75% of points/perks for ditching, 50% points/perks for bailing, and 25% for dieing.

....that dieing impacted perks so drastically.
makes sense of course.
I always land after a sortie so i've never noticed a degredation of my perks...yeah right.

thanks I'll remember to bail sooner to avoid the messy face-plants I've been known for.

Who knew? LOL

I have always just "died" on my missions, either through augering or getting killed.  I have much too short an attention span.

However, I have been trying to land this month or at least bail.  My stupid rank jumped 1000! I can't believe it!

...couldn't have something to do with the new tour could it? ;)

My ranking jumped 1500 slots. Frankly i just attribute it to my exponential improvement as a pilot since i started reading the forum. :D  :aok

Oh...and face planting a lot less.
