Well, I logged in about 7:00 A.M. EDT Sunday August 20, 2000.
The Knights weren't hurting, and when I logged in the rooks had the numbers. I think it was 24 Rooks, 18 Knights, and 7 Bish. The Knights and Rooks were handing it to the Bish pretty good.
There weren't as many bish and I felt that the Rooks have been using their usual number advantage every time I have logged on so I thought a push needed to be made against the rooks.
Some of the other Wrecking Crew Pilots were logged on and I pointed out that we could cut a swath to the Bish HQ pretty easy.
It began. I believe that I personally did the drop that captured five fields, cumulating with 13 at the end of the day.
We cut down throught V58 and V55, took 33 and then V61. In the interm I bombed the FIghter and Vehicle Hangars at 34 and there was a big fight there (Knights didn't capture til much later?)
Anyhow an Armor force took out the Rook HQ and City.
Then the Crew launched an Attack against A1.
We took it EASY!
I believe that Soda made the drop that captured A1 while me (B-17 25K) and Mox (B-26 20k?) hit the ack. I also killed the local Dar.
There was a P-38 and P-47 but Soda snuck by them.
Field A1 has been captured by the Knights has never looked so sweet IMHO!
Anyhow, I wanna say that if you get your S*** together you can make a difference. CavemanJ, Zigrat, Mox, Winggone, Soda, Mox, and I were terrors!
I also wanna mention Maniac who winged with Zig and and Dogfighter who was there to help.
There were others, and I am sorry if I did'nt' get your handles in.
I think we took 9 maybe ten fields between 8:30 A.M. EDT and 3:30 P.M.
I know I would check and was suprised that the Rook numbers were dropping during much of the assault. I know at one point there were 34 Rooks, 28 Knights, and 16 bish, and we were pushing the rooks back.
