anybody else notice this?

Lately, when I first log on, the friendly planes taking off from a field are red icons and the field ack is firing away at them. After a few seconds, they become green icons and the field ack stops firing, everything continues as normal.  What the heck?

Yeah, I've noticed that, too. I just figger it's net lag, or something like that. Was a bit disconcerting at first, but no longer bothers me.

I've had this since I started playing last August.  The friendlies are not just red icons, they are actually all bish ponies... take a closer look next time and you'll see.  :)

I think bish pony is the default plane for the server.  You'll see tracers from the ack but the planes never take damage.  However, if you were to up immediately, before the planes switched to green, (you're a rook),  the server would put you on the tarmac as a bish pony and the ack would blow you to pieces....... seriously.

Quickly up while your client is still updating from the server. Ack hits you and its a kill against you on the stats.. ouch.

Yep.  And if you wait just long enough and take off, and see a red pony on the runway don;t try to kill  it.  Kill shooter baby

That makes sense as I've always been Bish until recently. I thought maybe something was goobled up on my front end.

Yeah, I've noticed this since changing to Rooks on one of my accounts.  I had thought it was due to changing from my Bishops account to my Rooks account within a few minutes, but it's obviously happening to others too.  I suppose I have never noticed this before because I have always been Bishops....  :)

Pony was sitting on the rearm pad.  I was wandering why no one else was shooting at it, but I had to try it.  Back to the tower

It's a hack the Bish snuck on to the server to help even the score when  Rookie Rooks, Nit Wits, and  Bish traitors think they can get an easy kill only to killshooter themselves.

SUCKS alot too. Happend to me in a 262 once when I logged on. Came into the game. Was hot to trot to fly a 262 so i quickly grabbed one, jumped on to the runway and BOOM! "you have been killed" GRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Needless to say I wasnt so hot to trot about flying 262s that night:mad:

well Morph, I wasn't in a 262 but it makes me feel a little better that I'm not the only one this has happened to.  Me, you, Ded... numerous others who have been afflicted w/  this version of takeoffis interruptis.
