And the fun begins.......
« on: February 11, 2004, 11:08:42 AM »
Having spent 30 years in the USN, from 1962 to 1992, and retired as a Master Chief Boatswains mate, I look forward to the political
process this year. John "Hanoi" Kerry is going to be a nice target.
I served two tours of duty in Vietnam aboard Destroyers (the dungaree Navy) I have a website on one
http://www.dd841.com
Kerry was the brown water navy, PBR's (patrol boat river) (gives new meaning to the term brown water navy). After throwing his medals in the dirt (belay that) someone else's medals in the dirt
he now has his hanging on his office wall, he has the gonads to attempt to pass himself of as a (gag) war hero. On the cover of his book is a photo of his buddies mocking the famous photo of the flag raising on Iwo Jima. There is enough quotes in this book
by Hanoi Kerry to last the Bush People the entire year.

If he'd admit that he threw his own medals over the lawn and not somone elses I'd at least think kerry is at least a man of covinctions.  But no.....he didnt he claimed he threw somone elses and we all know the stunt was to further his political carreer so he could vote against most of the weapons systems that we have today that protect our US service men and the citizens that they defend.

Whats wrong with doing your duty for country and then later not agreeing with it? You still did you duty, right?? If you do something and later in life dissagree with the circumstances, does that change the fact of what you did??

More now than say five years ago? I do not know the entire story. Is he a media claimed war hero or self proclaimed war hero? Or is it the fact that he does not deny it? Should he??

OMG dont get into he said/she said BS on me here.  My whole point is kerry is now very proud veitnam vet who once marched with communists and protested the war stating all the atrocities that he and his fellow GIs commited on a daily bases.

Quote
Having engineered an early transfer out of the conflict because of his three Purple Hearts, John Kerry returned home to a sweet assignment as an admiral's aide in April 1969.

Quote
In October 1969, Kerry began to associate with anti-war protestor, Adam Walinsky, a former speech writer for Robert F. Kennedy

Quote
On Jan. 3, 1970, Kerry requested that his superior, Rear Admiral Walter F. Schlech, Jr., grant him an early discharge from the Navy so that he could run for Congress.
Quote
Kerry, a highly decorated veteran who seemed to be a clone of former President John F. Kennedy, right down to the military service on a patrol boat made 1970 bid for Congress in Massachusetts' Third District. Three-months later, when it became clear his opponent would get the Democratic Party nomination, Kerry dropped out.

Quote
Realizing that running for public office in Eastern Massachusetts as a decorated Vietnam veteran was not at that time politically correct, Kerry moved hard to the left, seeking a leadership position in Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW), a rabid pro-communist veterans organization.
IE WOW WHAT A GREAT BAND WAGON
Quote
Kerry attended a February 1971, VVAW conference bankrolled by Jane Fonda, the group's most prominent promoter. Over 125 self-proclaimed Vietnam veterans testified at a Detroit Howard Johnson's about wholesale rape, torture, and murder they claimed U.S. soldiers of committed in Vietnam. Kerry later said he found the accounts shocking and irrefutable.

I could paste more but reading this is making me sick!

your getting away from the fact that you can be a hero and protest a war in this country. it is a democracy.

also dont forget that most americans opposed the war in vietnam by the end.
