we had a simular story up here in the fall.  luckly it didn't go near as far.

some high school girl skipped school to spend the day with some guy, and made up a story on how she was abducted from the bus stop, held captive in a house and repeatedly raped, to explain howcome she never made it to school.

the cops took the area she said she was in and the discription of the house, located it and raided it.  taking down the door and cuffing the guy who lived there face-down on the lawn (in front of the family and niegbors).

luckly a smart detective took a look at some video coverage from a security cam near her bus stop and found she never even showed up there that day.

Airhead, he was not accused of a capital crime. The death penalty did not and does not apply. Invalid comparison.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

No Mav, the similarities are different, but you're going by what I wrote instead of what I meant.

How can similarities be different?

No Maverick, what I'm saying is,although the similarities are different, the circumstances are the same. And if you don't understand that then one of us needs to quit smoking pot.

Airhead, you've lost me.
Perhaps you should write what you meant?

The Death penalty did not apply here, can't compare it.

I just believe Airhead is aluding to the fact, that we cannot be sure that some of our people on death row deserve to be there, or were ratted out for some story because someone didn't like them.

I also feel that some cases are wrongly convicted. That only illustrates the fact that stronger evidence is needed to justify a verdict calling for death as opposed to the farce we have now.

"stronger evidence?" WTF would THAT be? guilt beyond a SHADOW OF a doubt? Then nobody even gets convicted cause guilt and penalty phases of a trial are two different issues.

Ping, you're Canadian, which makes you insignificant. In fact if the National Game of the USA were hockey instead of baseball, football and basketball nobody would have ever heard of Wayne Gretzky... he'd have been a bushleaguer.

I know I sure would hate to be on death row for a crime I never committed.
