Priller's Last Fw190: Finished and available
« on: February 16, 2004, 08:29:50 PM »

* The decision has been made - no swastika substitutes will be used after on. Thus, the vertical stab remains bare, unfortunately :(

* This 190 is a pure joy to look at from any angle. I especially like the 3/4 quarter rear view angles. Kinda gives me the goosebumps. It's a pity the gears are still not fixed.

* Gave some more time in cleaning out the rivets and panel lines. Also spent much time experimenting with highlights. I just hope they don't stand out too much, compared with the terrain/backgrounds.

* I'm sorry to say, the pilot looks like a ninja :D

The limitations of the textures were quite clear - thus, this is my best depiction of the two-piece pilot suit, from references posted by Wilbus. Kinda smurfy-lookin' from the side, but looks nice from the front angle ;)

 ..

Skin will be tested for any bugs, and will be available at the SkinDep soon.

Swastika or not, it still looks real purty.  Great job! :aok

I am sorry to criticise this otherwise excellent skin, but something is missing ... something very important.

The radiator cowling. Without the radiator cowling in the texture the nose of the Dora looks completely different from what it should. That HTC didn't model the cowling disappointed me a bit.

Radiator cowling is there -  Kweassas might not have it due to the image size or angle of screen shot.

Looks exelent!!

Btw, is it possible to fill up the face color on the pilot with some black color that looks like goggles? Would remove the ninja effect and the suit they used had it all covered :)

Very nice job!

Thanks a lot Kweassa!! :)

For some reason it gives me an instant CTD though. :( I hope I get it working at some point.

Just one thing...check that profile drawing I sent you for reference of the underside of the wing balkenkreuzes. In the very late war they were just solid black crosses.

Very nice!! :D I just hope I get it working.

cowling feature... ive not tried it , but i guess if you made each peice of the cowling a new layer and used some 3d effects like drop shadow and cut out you could get the thing to look real mean..

but the skin is a real peach...wtg:aok

Got it. Did a quick research and confirmed that most probably, late war Doras used an underwin Balkenkreuz referred to as form "B1b".

It will be propmtly fixed and reloaded. Also, the cowl flaps will be more emphasized in the fix.

ps) Strangely, I've downloaded the upped skin at SkinDep, and I'm not getting any problems myself.. the files are all in correct format.

Kweassa, email me the new zip file. I'll replace the old one then. :)

Edit: Forgot to say, that the skin works fine for me too. No CTD. :)

Now this is creepy!

I got the CTD's to end by renaming the old skins folder and by creationg a new one. In which I put this skin as "190d91". And it shows it as waffles Dora skin!! There's nothing else in that folder...how is that possible. I also managed to get it work with the old folder like that but it just wouldn't show this Priller's skin!

I removed Waffles dora skin...both the folder one and the one in .res format...and it still shows it instead this new one...weird for sure!

Lucull, on your site, for the Petie 3rd skin, it is typed "Petit 3rd".  ;)

Also, the navigating bar covers up some information and screenshots, very nice though.

Kweassa, that Dora is beautiful! :)
