Hello everyone,

I scoured the forums but couldn't find anything regarding my situation ... so I'm here asking to see if anyone can please assist me.

The game runs fine.  But my joystick, a Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro (non-USB) seems to be having some troubles.

When I go to game controllers in my control panel, the calibration seems fine, eveything is centered nicely, and moves as it should.

Same in AH.  Perfectly centered, everything moves nice.

When I jump in a plane though, arg!

I start the engines and throttle up ... as I'm gaining speed the plane want to pull to the right (when I'm not touhing anything on the joy).

When I'm in the air, it want to pull right, and dive.  I am constantly fighting with it to try and keep it level and straight.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I tried downloading the official drivers for Sidewinder sticks and when I try to install them I get a very cool error message from Windows XP saying that "some of the files are not compatible with your operating system"

*laf*

Anyways.   Windows seemed to have detected the joystick type fine anyways prior to trying the driver install, as did AH (it was in the list).

I've messed around with dampening, deadband and the sliders to no avail.

If anyone can fire me some suggestions or a joystick profile (not sure what that is but heard it mentioned in a few posts) .... I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks in advance.

Yup XP.

Is this the only way around this problem?

If I have to buy new hardware, I might as well get a new joy :)

I couldn't get my old sidewinder (gameport) to work with XP.  I got a Saitek rumble stick and then graduated to full CH setup.  Pricey but the best thing going.

In level flight, when you're holding the joystick still, does the nose bounce around?

Does it kick itself out of autopilot?
