Getting bounced pretty much every hour, on the hour on my Verizon DSL  :(  Been this way for about a week.

Getting pretty good at Falcon 4 again, just no one to play against.

If your using the Detonator 23.11 drivers, try an earlier version.

I used them w/o problems for a week or so then DSL started fediddleing up, even though still connected no data was coming in or going out, my best guess is my LAN card couldn't access the PCI bus due to AGP hogging the system bus

I could surf or play AH for approximately 9 minutes and then had to reboot and reconnect.

I went back to the 21.83 build and haven't had any more connect problems.

Yup, read that.  When was that posted....been workin' on it awhile I'd say.  Connects gone to toejam, CT is a joke due to lack of ht support. New features like cv's are useless due to lack of hardness, terrains dont support gv's like they used to.  Gotta wonder what their working on.
I've seen one train since they came out, couldnt kill it with guns, haven't seen a truck convoy yet. These new features keep coming out but they dont seem to make the game any more fun. It seems that as they come out they get limited, like I said, cv's and gv's are now pretty useless.  How long did it take to develop these features that are now relegated to limitd use?  In all seriousness, AH voice should make things a  bit more fun for the guys who usually fly alone but as for the rest of it, I dont know.  Read the article where ht talks about underground bunkers and first person shooter type action, gotta figure thats what their workin on.  Be interesting to see how that unfolds.  In the meantime, seems to me all the bells and whistles are useless if the connect sucks, I would think that would be first priority.

I have suffered severe warping as of lately. My netstatus always look the same: delay almost flat, but Server Queue Time bumpy allover. Not occasional spikes, but continuous (and regular) fast spikes.

Cheers,

I haven't had any problems as far as AH is concerned, but I hear the same problems from EVERY game out there. Can it be a general overload of the internet itself? You all know more than I do, of course, as alot of you are "internet power users" Is there anyone that can come up with a solution? Just a question. I have no answers. Any help out there? Dukemskt.

My connection is fine. I had 2 discos last night due to server problems, which is unaviodable, and exceptable.

HTC has no more control over the internet than you or I, or anyone else (exluding the company i work for which makes up over 35% of it hehe :D). 90% of disconnects come from your ISP, or the route that they take you through to get to the destination. Try using a proxy server or something and see if that helps, that would change your path and maybe you will aviod a bad hop/server along the way.

Cavalier, you go through 35 hops to get to the MA servers?? wow.. is that normal for people in europe?

I guess about all I can say about it is that you can either be patient about the situation or you can't.  Can't really blame ya if you can't, since you are paying for it monthly.  However, I haven't seen a major problem in the last year and a half that I've been here that hasn't been fixed in a reasonable (and sometimes an unreasonably fast) amount of time.  HT says they're working on the connection problem, then I'm sure they are.  I'm also sure it's not a problem that can take up a person's time 8 hours a day, which leaves time to do things like new versions of AH Voice.

As for new features that aren't fun, that's subjective.  The CVs have been out for quite a while now and this hardness issue has only recently flamed up.  It used to be people squeaking nonstop about the uber killing power the CV group's flak possessed.  It was toned down in responce, several times until people were seeminly satisfied.  Now a single fighter loaded with bombs can dive in through ack and kill the CV.  Whether or not it was possible for a single fighter to sink a ship in WWII (i really don't care either way), I don't think you should be able to in AH...you should be torn to shreds by ack before you get that close.  I'm happy to wait for it.  Of features that were implimented since I've been here that have enhanced my enjoyment, there are many, but I'll name a few:  Check 6 calls, clouds, Roger Wilco integration into AH, nightime & stars, cockpit shake when firing guns, Arado with RATOS  :), real trees on the ground, trains and their tracks which lead to bases and facilities, etc.

There are some things I don't like too, like the field re-supply stuff.  At least not the first incarnation of it...it was a novelty at first, but became annoying quick.  They've been working on it tho', and as far as I know it may be tweaked more to my liking (didn't like one c47 repairing an entire field instantly).  I do like the concept of the re-supplies tho'.

Regardless of any of this, I can still log on, find a fight and have fun.  Last night, I joined in on a nice big furball between A42 and A43.  It was a blast, and when the drove us back to A43 and blew up our fighter hangars, I upped in an Ostwind and had the most fun I've had in a ground vehicle in a long time.

I'll stop babbling now.  What can I say, you either like it or ya don't.   :)

Nimitz,

You ain't alone buddy. I have nbeen virtually off line for a month now in the MA. Ever since the new servers went up to accomodate over 300 ppayers my connection has been crap. It wseems to be directly related to the numbers in the MA as well. I can fly reliably in the TA with far fewer players but can't count on more tan one mission in the MA before disco city.

My total time in the MA ever since this has been solely in support of squad nights. Less than 5 to 6 hours a month. Not exactly worth the $15.00 I pay. If it were still at $30.00 I'd have been out of the game entirely.  :(

Mav, I think it's only the main arena that's off site & the TA/DA/SEA are still with Skuzzy.

That explains the difference in connect quality then. Thanks!

It's the Taliban. The bastards hate on-line gaming. I read it somewhere, can't remember where. They trained computer hackers at the AlQueerda training camps and have targeted other online games in the past. When they are gone you'll see it goes back to normal.

i've got one better than any of these...I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO LOG INTO THE MAIN ARENA FOR THREE (COUNT 'EM...3) DAYS!

before i start ranting, lemme say in all fairness to pyro and htc in general, that i've already spoken to them, and pyro said he was going to get to work on it...BUT...here it is thursday, and i'm still not able to log into the ma (i just checked).

based on what i was told, the problem is with a router that htc is now using.  i can log into the ct (and play with myself (keep the minds out of the gutter on that one, kids)), or to the training arena and listen to a lot of newbies whine because i keep killing them, but i still can't get into the ma.  the reason for this, as it was explained, is that the server for the ma is in a different physical location than the servers for the ct and ta.

regardless, i'm starting to get a little irritated.  i left work today early, and was looking forward to an afternoon of flying ah to celebrate my birthday (woohoo...i know, it's sad but true), only to find out i still can't lot the F in.

so, all you other chowderheads who are upset can only speculate as to how i feel at the moment.
