Miss Marilyn II
« on: February 20, 2004, 10:20:28 PM »
My latest skinning project that Im working on.  It still has a long ways to go and a lot of problems to fix, mainly being that the nose bare-metal gray color isnt the same as the wing (oops :lol )

I was hoping on getting some feedback from you about what could be changed/edited to make it look better.  Any and all help much appreciated!

Looks like the small vent on the nose is way too big. Those dots are huge compared to how small they'd be on an actual 51

Nose checks might be a bit small and a bit too far forward onto the spinner.

Understand I couldn't get it a nice as yours already is but you asked for observations :)

Hope it turns out well

Heres a picture to compare it by.  It doesnt have the kill marks like mine does beside the little noseart looking thing.

Now, by the "small vent under the nose" you mean the one directly under the spinner correct?

And dots... which dots?

(I like to completely understand things, sorry if it angers ya! :D )

The dots I mentioned are those under the exhaust stacks on the 51.  I marked them on the one of the old 51 Profiles I did a while back that also happens to be 55th FG.

Don't forget the green bands on the spinner too and the silver canopy frame :)

And if you have an extra 1.5 mil, the restored Miss Marilyn II is for sale :)

Pocket change... :D

Actually, those arent vent holes.  They are a group of 6 rows that have 5 kill marks below each, and one to the left.  I am basing this aircraft on a design I did on a model airplane a while back. I am not sure if it is accurate or not, but im just doing what is there.

I am working on the spinner right now, and cant quite figure out the concept, but im getting there.  The silver canopy frame cannot be modeled.  THere is the spot where it said "G Preddy" before, but it is only part of the frame, so it cannot do the whole thing.  The rest of the frame is the same color as the fuselage, so there really isnt much I can do.
