10Bears' Luzon Terrain Update

For Anyone who has 10bears' Luzon terrain...

Since he is away for a while...
He has asked me to post this updated version.
(It includes many bug fixes)


Download it here:

Luzon.exe


This is a "Intaller" file.
Just save it somewhere and run it.
Point it to your Ace High\Terrains\ Folder and hit "next".


H2H Users:
Please Note: Just joining a H2H host that is using this NEW terrain will NOT update the older versions.
You must delete it first..then join a host.
The terrain will then download.
Suggest you download here to save problems.

The new .res causes my AH client to close to desktop when selected. I then have to manually edit the curterr.cfg in order to get back into a usable terrain.

So I guess I'll go back to the older .res for now.

Btw even with the rough edges it's still a great job so far 10bear!

Try re-naming the terrain -- I had it downloaded as Luzon.res..res or something,  and it just needed to be renamed properly.

BTW, for those of you that are thirsty, make sure to check out the brewski at 7,10,5.

Make sure the name is correct.
AND
make sure there are no field settings files in the terrain folder, from the old Luzon.
The field numbers have changed from what I have seen. (this would cause AH to get confused and crash)

Before you first launch it: make sure there is only 1 file in the terrain folder for Luzon. There could be up to 3.

Do NOT use your browser to dload this file! It won't work if dloaded via Netscape, I tried it and it promptly crashed AH. Use a Download Manager [ReGet, Getright, GoZilla etc...] instead. I used ReGet and the file works fine.

 It was netscape messing it up I think. I used a different download manager and it works fine now.

Man... Some software sucks...

To Get Around the Browser problem the
terrain is now a "Installer" file. (use the same link)

This should solve the browser download problem.

I was thinking along the same lines....
A central site that has all the terrains.
The newest versions of them.
I was gonna give the terrain creators admin access to the site and a message board that enables people to post bugs for each terrain.

I have such a site half built. ( i stopped until I got some feedback)

If you want we could just link it off the LJK site.
The more the merrier tho...
