The f4u-1c has got to go - or we need a flak truck

So earlier a bunch of us are attacking V46->A29 .. a bunch of us are grouped together. No one is really paying attention to us except for a lone f4u-1c flown by "Comanche". Comanche succeeded in destroying every single one of us (including myself twice). It's almost like we had no armor at all - drive for 10 mins in an organized fashion and one rogue f4u destroys the entire tank force  

The fu-1c is either to good or the panzer armor is too weak. It nullifies any use of ground forces at all. Sure, you can bring m16s along but the m16 die a lot faster than tanks and thus are pretty much useless on any "offensive" operations where you can't rapid spawn. Maybe what we need is a flak truck with some decent cannons to fire at incoming planes!

Well...
Yesterday i tried to kill a tank in f4u...
I did it before often, but yesterday i had a bad day, because i flew into the  ground  3x and the tank killed me 1x.  

Hint:  Stop the tank attack if you are killed..that is also more realistic.

Maybe we can make a kind of agreement for not using the  f4u any more ?
(not for me..i only kill myself hehe )

I'm sorry, I don't really think thatt..
I've been killed easily by the f4u-ic.
I've also seen the same type of thing happen from 109's
from 190's
from Nik's
Spits and other seem to have a bit more difficult time of it.....

Another option would be to call in close air support.  A lone F4u isn't going to have much success against a tank column with one or two fighters to contend with.

(Unless, of course, Torque is at the controls of the lone F4u.)

You guys are great.  The armor penetration of the 20mm is overmodeled, so you suggest removing the plane!

I'm tired of watching them stroll out of the crater created by 2 1k bombs. its truely annoying as hell.


btw the panzer is not hevily armored, you should be asking for a tiger or panther

The AP capabilities of the HS are overmodeled...I dont know.
The PzIV has 16mm turret roof armour.....
15mm hull deck armour....
The panther was simulare and the tiger had about 10mm more in each area.

Most students of normandy should expect that panzers without AAMGs or escorting flak in this open terrain to be very vulnerable to typhoons for example.Certainly there are volumes of historical references to support this capability in the HS cannon.

I think the mistake made was in not taking a few m16s....
Thats what they are for. Yes they are more vulnerable but armour fundimantaly needs anti air units. 30% of a large tank force should be anit air.

I think you will find that Typhoons were getting tank kills with rocket projectiles, not with 20mm cannon.
