Being shredded to pieces on this message board.

Seriously though, this game is pretty amazing and submersive.

I think the best thing is that you can use any combination of controllers you want, ie. optical digital sticks with analog pedals etc. Don't know of any other games that will .

"What is the best thing about Aces High?"

Their attention to user input and innovative ideas, constant attention to detail, and consistent updates, hard work, dedication to the sim.  I've never witnessed so few do so much with a sim.

Think Il-2 allows that too.

My take on the best of AH is the development team. Awesome client-friendly group of people who always answer fast to any kind of problems reported.

And Natedog, who makes awesome LW models  :D

I recently spent a weekend downloading demos of other flight sims, new and old. One the greatest things of AH is the POV.. I found most other games "forward veiw" looks like you are sitting with your chin on your dash board looking through your aiming point the whole time. this was disapointing to me, the first flight sim i have ever played was aces high, so it set a steep curve for the others.. none of which impressed me.

The other is the veiw system in general, much easier to have SA then all the other sims i played.

Otherwise i think you covered the rest of the great things of AH  :)

Besides HTC themselve? I agree with Amon. The view system is the tops on my lengthy "really good things about AH" list.  While the views are arguably generous in some aircraft I found that any other game/sim has far, far too restrictive of a POV. It's one major reason that WBIII itself I find not very appealing. It may have extra settings to change field of view, much like AH zom but in steps. And a key to lean but my head (POV) still feels nailed to a swiveling pole there in comparison to the fluid movement I can make in AH to look around canopy struts a little.

And clouds. Oh those billowy, beautiful immersive clouds! No rock concert fog effect here.  :)

Yankee and Ronni.

I'd marry each of 'um in a heartbeat.

Or both. That would be very nice.

Flying with my squad.  Nothing beats that in AH.

tho, I'll admit that flying with JV44 in Big Week has been a blast.   :)

-- gotta be flying with my squad.  They are a great bunch of guys and i always have the most fun in AH on squad nights.

-- having the ability to piss non AH people off with my endless stories of "last night's sortie."

-- the AH legends.  Guys like rollo, whels, thunder, caveman, mathman, Ripsnort, ammo, All the FDB's, guys who stand out of the crowd.
